VAT penalty reform delayed

The reform of the VAT penalties and interest regime for late filing and payment will be delayed until 1 January 2023. It had been due to start in April 2022 but HMRC needs more time to update its systems. 

Tax avoidance and evasion

The Welsh Revenue Authority has issued new guidance summarising its approach to dealing with tax avoidance and evasion including its powers to issue penalties in relation to the devolved taxes.

Capital allowances

HMRC has published a new toolkit to provide guidance on the commonly found errors in relation to capital allowances for structures and buildings.

SEISS
