High earners in the UK pay more tax than the European average

UK high earners pay 3% more in tax when compared to the European average according to research from UHY International. The UK imposes higher income tax rates for high earners than France Spain and Poland and no longer has a reputation as one of the more favourable countries for higher earners. 

Of the countries studied Russia had the lowest income tax rate where all taxpayers including high earners pay 13% income tax. Denmark taxes individuals earning US$1.5m more than half their income at 53.2% ranking the highest among the 30 countries studied.
