The government has extended various consultations in light of the Covid-19 crisis.
In a written statement to the House of Commons Jesse Norman financial secretary to the Treasury said interested parties would have a further three months to comment on these tax policy documents:
- plastic packaging tax: policy design – 20 August;
- preventing abuse of the R&D tax relief for SMEs: second consultation – 28 August;
- tackling construction industry scheme abuse – 28 August;
- notification of uncertain tax treatment by large businesses – 27 August;
- vehicle excise duty: call for evidence – 3 September;
- call for evidence: raising standards in the tax market – 28 August;
- taxation impacts arising from the withdrawal of LIBOR – 28 August;
- hybrid and other mismatches – 29 August;
- tax treatment of asset holding companies in alternative fund structures – 19 August; and
- HMRC charter – 15 August.
