Consultation deadlines extended

The government has extended various consultations in light of the Covid-19 crisis.

In a written statement to the House of Commons Jesse Norman financial secretary to the Treasury said interested parties would have a further three months to comment on these tax policy documents:

  • plastic packaging tax: policy design – 20 August; 
  • preventing abuse of the R&D tax relief for SMEs: second consultation – 28 August; 
  • tackling construction industry scheme abuse – 28 August; 
  • notification of uncertain tax treatment by large businesses – 27 August; 
  • vehicle excise duty: call for evidence – 3 September; 
  • call for evidence: raising standards in the tax market – 28 August; 
  • taxation impacts arising from the withdrawal of LIBOR – 28 August; 
  • hybrid and other mismatches – 29 August; 
  • tax treatment of asset holding companies in alternative fund structures – 19 August; and
  • HMRC charter – 15 August.
