Concerns remain over awareness of conditionality tax checks for taxi and PHV operators

Local authorities remain concerned about the details available implementation cost and upheaval for both drivers and consumers of the conditionality tax checks that came into force on 4 April 2022 according to untied the personal tax app.

A study undertaken in March 2022 in association with Eazitax a provider of accounting and tax support to drivers and operators updated statistics that can be compared to previous iterations published in November and July 2021. It found that more than a quarter of local authorities (28%) were not confident that all operators in their area were aware of these. This statistic is however a lot lower than four months ago when 73% of local authorities were concerned over the lack of awareness of the scheme.
