Changes proposed for HMRC's statistics publications

28 October 2022
Issue: 4863 / Categories: News

HMRC is consulting on proposed changes to around one-third of its statistics publications. The intention is to continue to produce relevant statistics and to adapt statistics publications to reduce those which are no longer widely used, are duplicated elsewhere, or could be produced less frequently.

The proposals include:

  • discontinuing or reducing the frequency of certain publications such as the income tax, National Insurance, tax credits and child benefit statistics for non-UK nationals;
  • replacing the current six-monthly insurance premium tax bulletin with an annual publication;
  • moving the publication date of monthly property transactions to the end of the month; and
  • reducing coverage of some publications, expanding others and consolidating where information is broadly duplicated.

Comments should be emailed to statisticsenquiries@hmrc.gov.uk by 16 January 2023.
