Short-term business visitors

HMRC has published the responses to the consultation on short-term business visitors (STBVs). Two changes are to be made to the PAYE special arrangement on STBVs from foreign branches. First from 6 April 2020 the UK workday rule will be increased from 30 days or fewer to 60 days or fewer. Second the PAYE reporting and payment deadlines of 19 April and 22 April will be changed to 31 May.

Work together against fraud

Countries must step up work to ensure that tax and anti-corruption authorities can co-operate in the fight against tax evasion bribery and other forms of corruption according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and World Bank. The call comes in a report  Improving Co-operation between Tax Authorities and Anti-Corruption Authorities in Combating Tax Crime and Corruption.
