- The deadline for comments to the Treasury’s call for evidence on employee expenses has been extended to 10 July. This subject is likely to affect at least some clients whether they are employees or employers. Why not consider submitting your thoughts.
- The comments of the First-tier Tribunal in Anstock (TC5784) highlight the importance of checking that notices for information from HMRC meet the legislative requirements. It would not be in the client’s interests to assume the wording is correct.
- Businesses that export to the US should review their profit margins on such goods and ascertain the potential impact that a border adjustment tax might have. They should consider whether the profit margin could be increased. Alternatively perhaps production could be moved to the US.
