  • How ready are your clients for Making Tax Digital? If you have not already done so consider circulating a questionnaire asking them about their level of computerisation to find out how much help they might need from you.

 

  • A First-tier Tribunal must explicitly state that permission is granted for a late appeal. As shown in Ancell (TC5669)  just because the tribunal has acknowledged the application and carried out initial procedures does not mean it has granted the late appeal.

 

  • Pending changes to the taxation of labour providers other than employees are you aware of the tax implications of the business format being used by such clients? Are the IR35 rules or the new regulations relating to workers in the public sector applicable.
