Put your client admin into motion.
- HMRC has released various draft legislation for consultation as highlighted in this week’s news. Will any of your clients be affected by the areas covered? It would be worth taking the time to read the drafts most likely to have a bearing on your work.
- If – for some good reason – you are late submitting an appeal on behalf of a client even if HMRC is disincline to accept it the First-tier Tribunal may be more amenable taking into account the interests of fairness and justice (as in Hussain).
- HMRC acknowledges that its procedures and practices are ‘not perfect’ but is committed to change. It believes that the agent community plays an invaluable part in helping to make the whole tax system work and engagement with Working Together Online is encouraged.
