Online checks

More than 100 000 people have used HMRC’s online service to ensure their car benefit and car fuel benefit is correct. The service which went live in November 2015 is available through the personal tax account.

 

IT chief to leave

HMRC has confirmed that its chief digital and information officer Mark Dearnley will leave the department in September when his contract expires.

 

Contracting out

HMRC has published Countdown Bulletin 19  on contracting out. It includes confirmation that HMRC will not accept requests made after 5 August 2016 to register for the scheme reconciliation service.

 

Avoidance schemes

HMRC has updated the list of tax avoidance schemes on which users may be charged an accelerated payment.
