HMRC is encouraging tax credit claimants to renew online.
The deadline for renewing tax credit claims for 2016-17 is 31 July 2016.
HMRC is encouraging claimants to renew online as soon as they receive their tax credit renewal packs. Claimants can also use the online service to report changes in their circumstances. In 2015, more than 750,000 people renewed online.
People who use the online facility will have access to their personal tax account, giving them access to a range of other services, including viewing their next tax credit payment.
Failure to renew before the deadline will lead to payments being stopped. More information can be found here.
