Gift aid

HMRC has updated the guidance Claiming a Top-up Payment on Small charitable Donations to reflect the new £8 000 limit that comes into force from 6 April 2016.

 

Briefings

HMRC has published three issue briefings. Taxing the Profits of Companies That Are Not Resident in the UK explains when a foreign company has to pay UK corporation tax; Taxing Multinationals – tackling aggressive tax planning explains how HMRC is working with other countries to prevent some multinational businesses from avoiding payment of tax; and Taxing Multinationals – transfer pricing rules explains how HMRC operates the rules to ensure the correct UK tax is paid.

 

Employee expenses

An online service is now available for employees who wish to claim tax relief on employment expenses they have paid. Paper claims may still be made on form P87.
