Film tax relief

In 2014/15 UK production companies claimed film tax relief worth about £251m.

 

Tax treaty

The 2015 UK/Bulgaria double taxation convention was signed on 26 March 2015 and entered into force on 15 December 2015.

 

VAT grouping

HMRC have received more information about VAT grouping in the Netherlands and Spain. Revenue and Customs Brief 23/2015  provides an update on how the UK expects member states to operate VAT grouping since the Skandia America Corp (USA) filial Sverige (C-7/13) decision.

 

Partial exemption

From 1 January 2016 UK businesses using the standard partial exemption method may no longer recover input tax on supplies made by foreign branches.
