Tax summaries
About 30 million people will receive an annual tax summary which will explain how their income tax and National Insurance have been calculated for 2014/15 and how the government spent the money collected.
RPI
The retail prices index for September 2015 is 259.6.
State pension
The House of Commons work and pensions committee has launched an enquiry into the new state pension. It wants to know what the government needs to do to raise awareness of the changes and the issues people face in understanding the transition. Comments should be submitted by 30 November 2015.
Insolvency
VAT Notice 700/56: insolvency has been updated. It cancels and replaces the April 2015 version. Details of changes are in paragraph 1.1 of the notice.
