Service your clients
- Auto-enrolment may not be at the top of your to-do list but for employers with up to 50 members of staff this is something they must be considering. Think about writing an article on this for your local newspaper. It could be a good marketing opportunity.
- The decision in Higgs that TMA 1970 s 34 did not apply to self-assessment could be a helpful decision to bear in mind if a tax return is held up beyond the four-year time limit.
- What do you think about the penalties regime? Take some time to read the review document and submit your comments. Why not ask tax staff for their thoughts on how the system works? Don’t forget to submit comments to HMRC by 11 May.
