Agents’ self-serve offering takes step closer

Tax advisers are being invited to share their views on prototype pages of HMRC’s planned agent online self-serve (AOSS) offering.

The Revenue has published a series of screenshots, which show what agents might do to confirm their client lists are accurate and how they could view the PAYE accounts of employer clients.

The department says it is on track to launch AOSS live to a very small number of volunteers next month. Tax officials plan to make improvements to the service based on feedback before gradually inviting more agents to join the beta testing phase.
