As an accountant who serves mainly small businesses and sole traders I am often asked “How can I reduce my tax bill?” It is always nice to be able to add extra value without stepping the wrong side of HMRC’s rules.

This is where this book is very useful: it is designed to help entrepreneurs and small firms minimise their tax bills through good planning rather than avoidance or evasion.

It is clear in its writing and structure and easy to follow. It also contains a good number of illustrative examples. The contents page guides the reader quickly to the required section.

The book has 21 chapters the majority of which cover different business structures and their pros and cons along with the best methods of extracting money from businesses. Then there is a short section on VAT and inheritance tax planning.
