THE CTA DEBATE was held on CTA Day 13 September at the Diskus the conference venue at Transport House. Appropriately enough the invited audience were told that the Chancellor Gordon Brown had picked up a CTA Day information pack on his way to the TUC Conference from the stand run by members at Victoria station.
Following a Question Time format past CIOT President John Whiting was Chairman ('Tonight Cat I'm going to be David Dimbleby'). The panel consisted of Dr Vincent Cable (Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor) Philip Hammond (Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury) David Ladds of King's College London Maggie Fleming of Isis Financial Planning and Howard Reed of the IPPR.
