Our client a local estate agent is both a director and 50% shareholder in a limited company operating out of one office and a 50% partner in another agency trading under the same name but from a different office three miles away.
The limited company has recently been subject to a vigorous PAYE inspection where we believe the two inspectors have gone completely over the top in their level of questioning. In many ways it is a pity that this has not become a full enquiry because at least the fee protection insurance would have been available.
There are two matters for which clarification is sought from readers.
