PAYE tools
The latest version of HMRC’s basic PAYE tools to help employers run their payroll systems is available.
SDLT6
A new version of the SDLT6 guidance notes will be released on 2 July 2012. It will be available as a PDF, accessible from HMRC’s stamp taxes SDLT homepage.
CFC guidance
HMRC have published draft guidance for consultation to support draft legislation in Finance Bill 2012 that applies to controlled foreign companies and permanent establishments.
Salary sacrifice
The questions and answers document on salary sacrifice arrangements has been updated by HMRC to include additional information on workplace pension schemes and auto-enrolment.
Garlic wars
The European Commission is taking the UK to the European Court of Justice, saying £15m of duties remain outstanding in relation to imports of garlic from the People’s Republic of China, which wrongly stated it was frozen when it was in fact fresh.
Import duties on frozen garlic are lower than those on fresh garlic.
