Advice on delay to 2011/12 payslip booklets

Effect on employers depends on associated accounts office

HMRC will be issuing new PAYE payment booklets for 2012/13 until 31 March 2012, meaning the department will not find it possible to issue the equivalent for 2011/12.

The situation will affect employers who request a 2011/12 booklet between the following dates, depending on which accounts office they are linked to.

Requests received by HMRC Shipley between 9 December 2011 and 20 January 2012 will not be dealt with until after 27 January. Requests made from 21 Januarywill be handled normally.

Requests received by HMRC Cumbernauld between 16 December and 27 January will not be processed until after 3 February. Requests made from 28 January will be dealt with normally.

Employers who have a payment to make by 19 January and do not have a payslip (or payment booklet) should use the online facilities. Alternatively, employers who do not want to wait for HMRC to send payslips should issue payment (or notification of nothing to pay) to HMRC Shipley with a covering letter.
