Digital dealings with HMRC are going to be mandatory for all new businesses from 2013. This is the inevitable conclusion from the department’s recent consultation document Digital by Default.

The document introduces the registration wizard that will enable new businesses to register for the main direct taxes and is part of the ‘one click’ programme to speed up the move to delivery of services online.
