Recent parliamentary discussions show that more than 30 commercial suppliers whose iXBRL-enabled software products have been successfully tested with HMRC are now listed on the department’s website.
All have provided evidence demonstrating that their software can produce documents compliant with the iXBRL requirements which will be introduced from 1 April 2011.
HMRC have confirmed that if a deadline is missed due to implementation issues with iXBRL software, a ‘well-established reasonable excuse provision’ will apply. Guidance on transitional arrangements can be found on the Revenue's website.
Taxpayers are reminded that April 2011 is not a filing deadline.
