Construction industry scheme returns

HMRC have introduced further security checks to ensure that corrections made to contractors’ monthly returns are proper to their particular returns and that the revised details have been recorded correctly.

Agents or employers who call the construction industry scheme (CIS) contact centre may now be asked for other details shown on the original return that requires amendment.

When sending an amended return to Netherton, the agent or employer may be contacted by the CIS centre in Newry asking for confirmation about the period to which the corrections/additions relate.

Similarly, when writing a letter to the CIS centre in Newry, the person responsible may be contacted either by telephone or in writing asking for a confirmation of the amendments.
