Law firm mourns death of consultant

London law firm Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB) is mourning the death of consultant Peter Twiddy.

The tax veteran joined the firm in 2006 after his retirement from HMRC, where he had enjoyed a distinguished, 40-year career that began in the estate duty office and ended at the head of the inheritance tax litigation section of the capital taxes office.

BDB's James Johnston said Peter 'put his unparalleled knowledge of both the detail and the policy of inheritance tax and international taxation at the service of clients and professionals, lecturing extensively and writing in professional journals. It was a privilege for us to have had him as a colleague and friend. He will be deeply missed.'

At the request of his family, any donations in memory of Peter may be addressed, care of James Johnston, to the following charities: the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust - Susanna Twiddy Fund, the Wild Trout Trust, or the Musicians Benevolent Fund.
