Tax Law Rewrite publishes final work

CIOT expresses concern about project's aim

The Tax Law Rewrite project's final bills have been published.

The Corporation Tax Bill and the Taxation (International and Other Provisions) Bill are the project's sixth and seventh items of work.

The previous five were the Capital Allowances Act 2001 the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003 the Income Tax (Trading and Other Income) Act 2005 the Income Tax Act 2007 and the Corporation Tax Act 2009. The project has also rewritten the PAYE Regulations which took effect from 6 April 2004.

The latest Corporation Tax Bill the second of two dealing with corporation tax substantially completes the rewrite of the corporation tax code.
