Advice on imminent admin change
The use of paper VAT returns is to be phased out from 1 April 2010, when businesses with an annual turnover of £100,000 or more and all newly registered VAT businesses will have to file their returns online and make payments electronically.
HMRC are holding free events at the following locations, where the department will provide information about VAT online:
- Glasgow – 18 November
- Cardiff – 26 November
- Belfast – 2 December
- London – 8 and 9 December.
