I refer to the editorial note on page 70 of this week’s Taxation magazine (22 January 2009) and in particular the sentence ‘Regard should also be had to rules of the professional institutes that clients should not be taken on if the practitioner does not have the skills to deal with them’.
While I would never claim to have as much knowledge on taxation matters as the editorial staff of Taxation to suggest that because I am unwilling to pay for software which should be provided by HMRC I do not have the skills to deal with partnership taxation is unbelievable and misses the point.
Today I have done pretty much nothing else other than pay for download and set-up partnership tax return software complete a partnership tax return and submit it to HMRC.
Predictably the submission ‘could not be accepted as it failed Inland...
