Like many members of our profession, I find it annoying that HMRC describe taxpayers as customers.

One of our new clients has tax arrears and was in discussion with the collector concerning time to pay.

Our client was advised that he could not have time to pay as he was employed by a non-profit making organisation.

However, the officer did perhaps or perhaps not helpfully suggest that our client apply for bankruptcy.
