Tax return frustrations

am a sole practitioner and use HMRC's own software to file my clients' tax returns. I used it for the first time last year for 2006-07 returns and had no problems. However, this year, there have been two problems which HMRC have posted on 'service issues — self assessment'.

One concerns the agent's name instead of the client's appearing on the online form, the other is as follows: '... Information entered into the return isn't being reflected within the HTML view and print of the return. We are working with our IT partners to resolve this issue and will update this page shortly'.

These problems have still not been resolved! My clients are not prepared to give me authorisation to submit their returns specifically because of the second issue, which is of course a most unsatisfactory state of affairs.

I thought it was HMRC's aim to encourage online filing.
