Ernst & Young and KPMG have been named joint winners of a prestigious finance award.
The companies were the co-recipients of the Big 4 Auditor of the Year prize at the latest FD/CBI Finance Directors' Excellence Awards ceremony in London.
More than 760 finance directors from a variety of industries nominated Ernst & Young for the gong, which KPMG has won four times in as many years.
Ernst & Young's UK chairman, Mark Otty, said the accolade was 'especially valued' and 'a testament' to the hard work of his company's auditing team.
The UK head of audit at KPMG, Richard Bennison, remarked that the award was 'a reflection of the commitment and quality of our audit teams', whose services are 'services second to none'.
Ernst & Young and KPMG have been shortlisted for two prizes each at this year's Taxation Awards, which will be presented on 22 May at the Hilton hotel, Park Lane, London.
The companies are competing for Best Big 4 Tax Team, while Ernst & Young is also in line for Best International Tax Team, and KPMG has been nominated for Best VAT Team.
