Taxpayers puzzled about difference between pension scheme return and SA970
HMRC are concerned that some taxpayers are confused about the difference between the pension scheme return and the SA970.
These are two completely separate returns.
Pension scheme administrators have to file a pension scheme return using Pension Schemes Online if they have received notice to a file a return.
The SA970 should be filed on paper by the trustees of a pension scheme where appropriate.
