Definitely not! Glasgow has everything: culture, sport, industry and countryside. ALLISON PLAGER discovers it has tax attractions, too

Billy Connolly John Logie Baird Kenny Dalglish Robert Louis Stephenson Sir Alex Ferguson and Donald Dewar: all these are famous sons of Glasgow.

The world-renowned Scottish Ballet Company has its base in Glasgow as does the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. What more could you ask for?

Another quick Google search leads me to discover that the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama is in Glasgow famous alumni of which include David Tennant and Alan Cumming.

Culture is definitely not a problem for Glasgow. The city may not have quite the same romantic ring that Edinburgh has but it has pretty much everything else.

All this coupled with Glasgow's proximity to stunning countryside even Aviemore is not that far away makes it an attractive proposition to live and work in. All the big four firms have substantial operations there ...
