I KNOW WE are all busy that it is summer (lest we forget) and that it would be easy to let another consultation pass by unread. If you work in tax compliance or have a responsibility for it then this is one you should make time for. Comments are invited by 10 August 2007 so if there is anything you do not like the sound of and you want your say you had better get a wriggle on! The purpose of this article is to highlight some of the things that the consultative paper on compliance checks of 17 May 2007 (Modernising powers deterrents and safeguards: New approach to compliance checks and hereinafter referred to as 'Condoc') is saying.
