This is an impressive book that effectively splits into two parts. The first section of 31 chapters takes the reader through a comprehensive review of virtually everything to do with pension arrangements past and present with special emphasis on the relevance of the contents to the accounting and auditing professions.

The second part is a very useful set of the reference materials involved in the book's preparation. This is particularly helpful as endless searching of websites and other written material to trace sources is more or less unnecessary.
