The Chancellor was asked how many small companies have gone online and claimed a special tax reduction since 2000. John Healey gave the following information:

For readers who cannot recall the 2001 discount, this was a one-off £50 discount offered for small employers for filing their employer's annual return online (and also a £50 discount for doing their tax credits business online). This was for one year only. The 2005 figure relates to the £250 tax-free incentive payment.
