Replying to a written question concerning the number of taxpayers who had registered to file their tax returns via the Internet, Dawn Primarolo said that since the registration service began on 3 April 2000, 134,550 taxpayers had registered. During the period 3 July 2000 (when the facility first became available) to April 2001, the number who had actually used the service to file their returns was 40,299.
