Sometimes I do wonder just how I put up with him indoors.

I guess it’s only ’cos he feeds me and the discussions we have about tax. In fact lately even this feeding business has been getting a little bit dodgy.

He knows I don’t like plain dog food my palate needs to be tempted; perhaps a little tuna in olive oil on top of it; ox kidney or liver I’m quite partial to (any kind of liver now I think of it; I love The Silence of the Lambs you know).

But he knows I’m not that keen on pilchards; so why he tried to fob me off with them for two days in a row I’ll never understand.

I bet they were a ‘buy one get one free’ offer at Waitrose. The abbreviation of which now that I think of it could...
